There are traits inherited, be it cognitive, emotional, or physical. In a recent phone conversation with my mother she mentioned the striking eyes of her late grandfather, Burton Leavensworth Munro (1887-1963). It made me return to the rich trove of family photographs. And there I found it- that penetrating gaze passed along three generations going back to Bendent Baird Munro (1804-1871), one trait that I have not carried. Both my mother and myself have what I would call "sleepy eyes". I called her back asking more about the "Munro Eyes" and she spoke of the deep blue of my great grandfather's eyes, a fact that black and white photographs do not yield. This blue-eye recessive trait I have carried. What other traits in other Munro lines have carried on?
